Minutes: The minutes of the October 2024 meeting were approved as written.
Financial Report: The financial report, showing a cash balance of $2051.35 was
presented by Richard Layne and was approved as read.
Speakers:
Recap of Chris Tackett presentation about what happened in the 2024 election
Sally and Richard showed and reviewed the slide deck of a presentation Chris Tackett
made at the Tarrant County Democratic Women’s Club.
Rodney Lee
Will be running for Justice of the Peace, Pct. 4. Our club is planning to help ad support
him in his campaign. More details will follow as the campaign gets organized.
Group Texting within the club:
Richard Layne has developed a plan to facilitate group texting to club members. He
outlined how the plan will work.
Action Item
Karen Horgan asked club member to send emails to the SBOE to block approval of
Bible based reading and English curriculum in Texas schools. The Texas Freedom
Network is working to defeat this agenda.
Christmas Party
It was suggested that we check with the Lakeside Community Center as a location for
the Christmas Party. Details to follow.

Reminders/Announcements:
Any VDRs in the club, be aware that all VDR terms expire on Dec 31. Beginning on Nov
1, the Elections Administration will begin scheduling appointments to renew and sign up
for Online Training: Tarrant County has adopted the procedure that allows a person to
proceed with online training by reviewing the VDR PowerPoint presentation provided
by the Secretary of State website. After reviewing the VDR PowerPoint presentation,
you must appear in person at the Tarrant County Elections Administration Office, you
will need to schedule your appointment. Examination and supplies are issued on
Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. by
reservation (not available during holidays and election day). Please visit our sign-up
tool to reserve your spot. A potential Volunteer Deputy Registrar can use the training
materials to assist them when completing the examination. After scheduling your
appointment, you must complete and bring with you the request
for Appointment Form*
Membership Dues are due in January and can be paid directly to Richard, or paid with
Zelle, or on ActBlue.

$25/person
$40/couple
New Member Promotion – Prorated memberships are being offered to any new member
joining after Feb. 1.
