VI. Membership and Dues
Membership in the Northwest Tarrant Progressives is open to any person interested in working to advance the Mission Statement and Objectives of the Northwest Tarrant Progressives (NWTP) and to advance the goals and ideals of the Tarrant County Democratic Party (TCDP) and the Texas Democratic Party (TDP).
Dues shall be paid on a calendar year basis (i.e., January through December) and shall be in the amount of $25.00 per person, or $40.00 per couple. Any member whose annual dues are current shall be considered a “member in good standing,” and shall be eligible to vote in the second (2d) month following the initial payment of their dues.
Members paying their dues in September, October, November or December shall be considered to be members in good standing through December of the following calendar year.
Membership dues may be reduced or waived by the Executive Board, at its discretion, for students or for persons experiencing hardships in exchange for community service to the Northwest Tarrant Progressives.
VII. Meetings
General Membership Meetings shall be held monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, unless changed by the Executive Board, and will be chaired by the President, The Vice President, or their Designee. The Executive Board will strive to invite guest speakers involved in current efforts of the Democratic Party, To share information on both challenges and opportunities. Meetings will be a forum to share information and assist members to become better informed and more politically active at the local, county, and state levels.
Executive Board meetings shall occur monthly, prior to the general membership meeting, at a time and place to be determined by the Board. The general membership may attend, and shall be notified of the time and location of regular Board meetings forty-eight (48) hours in advance.
Forty percent (40%) of paid membership shall constitute a quorum for the purposes of conducting business at general membership meetings called with forty-eight (48) hours notice.
