Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by the club president, Sally Craig, at
7:02 pm, with 21 members and guests present.
Minutes: The minutes of the June 2025 meeting, submitted by Karen Horgan,
Secretary, and emailed to the members, were approved as filed.
Financial Report: The financial report, showing a cash balance of $2949.63 was
presented by Treasurer, Richard Layne, and was approved as read. Richard also
reported we had a profit of $775.97 from the golf tournament.
Agenda Items:
Nathan Smith, TCDP Interim Communications Committee Chair
● Nathan explained that the Communications Committee handles all the club’s
social media, the website, email blasts and the calendar.
● Goals
o to tell our story
o throw some elbows
o show what things could be like if Democrats were in charge
● TCDP needs to be responsible for Tarrant County and get our message out
● The committee needs more volunteers to make that happen
o Help with opposition research, donor research, etc.
o In need of people with experience in web design and Canva

Possible caterer for the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater fundraiser
Provided some ideas for some menu items for dinner, suggested a buffet was the best
way to go.
Announcements:
We will postpone the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater until January and focus on getting
Taylor Rehmet (running for Texas Senate, SD9) elected in November. Please volunteer
to help his campaign, phone banking, block walking, donating.

We need new ideas for future fundraisers. Some ideas include:
1. Mini Golf tournament at Lakeside Mini Golf
2. Murder Mystery Dinner Theater
3. Chili Cook-Off and Karaoke Night
4. Bowling League with other clubs
a. A 50/50 or Money Pot Winner
5. Garage Sale
Membership Dues are due in January and can be paid directly to Richard, or paid
with Zelle, or on ActBlue.
Dues are
$25/person
$40/couple
New Member Promotion – Prorated memberships are being offered to any new
member joining after Feb. 1.
