Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by the club president, Sally Craig, at
7:02pm, with 10 members and guests present.
Minutes: The minutes of the March 2025 meeting, submitted by Karen Horgan,
Secretary, and emailed to the members were approved as filed.
Financial Report: The financial report, showing a cash balance of $2,056.88 was
prepared by Treasurer, Richard Layne, and presented by Sally Craig and was approved
as read.
Speakers:
Andrew Brinker, Candidate for TRWD Water Board
He is an environmental biologist. He taught for 15 years at Paschal High School and
now teaches at the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences High School at TCC Trinity
River Campus. He has an incredible amount of experience and knowledge in this area.
AND he's endorsed by the Sierra Club! He would be a tremendous asset to TRWD.
He spoke about various projects and scientific endeavors he has been responsible for
regarding the Trinity River. Projects such as, mercury levels in the water, Pfas study,
identified 32 species of fish in the river, a turtle monitoring project that has been in
progress for 3 years and other interesting projects. 2.5 million people get water through
TRWD.
His goals are prioritizing sustainability and transparency. He will collaborate with TRWD
leadership, scientists, and the community to ensure responsible, forward-thinking water
management for Tarrant County.
Craig Morgan, Candidate for EMSISD School Board, place 3
Craig works in industrial development. He has worked with facility planning projects for
the District. Is supported by the other current board members.
Agenda Items:
Golf Tournament
Golf Tournament Organizing Committee meeting zoom call Friday at 7 pm.
The golf tournament benefitting Rodney’s campaign and our club will be held on May 17
at Cross Timbers Golf Course in Azle. We will need help from club members to make
this a success.
Things you can do:
1. Volunteer for the Tournament Committee!
2. Golfers: If you know any golfers, please ask them to play in the tournament!
3. Silent Auction: We will have a silent auction and need to solicit items, gift cards,
etc. from local merchants for the gift baskets. Sally, Becky, and Laney are
coordinating this effort.
4. Hole Sponsorships: We will sell hole sponsorships for $100.

Membership Dues are due in January and can be paid directly to Richard, or paid
with Zelle, or on ActBlue.
Dues are
$25/person
$40/couple
New Member Promotion – Prorated memberships are being offered to any new
member joining after Feb. 1.
