Call to Order: The meeting was called to order via Zoom by the club president, Greg Noone, at 7:29 PM, with 14 participants. Greg emphasized Democratic efforts to get out the vote and the need for volunteers to staff candidate phone banks in the final days before the election.
Minutes: The Secretary, Lee Traweek, presented the minutes from the September 2020 general meeting. The minutes were approved as presented.
Financial Report: The treasurer, Haley Stackhouse, presented the financial report, with a cash balance of $1,347.75. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.
Membership Renewals: NWTP will be using Act Blue for new and renewing memberships in 2021. This online option is safe, secure and easy. A shout out goes to Michael Stackhouse for making this happen!
Executive Board Election: The election of the 20201 NWTP executive board is coming up. Greg asked members to give serious consideration to throwing their names in the hat for these leadership positions.
Political Contributions: A recommendation was made to utilize some of the funds NWTP had on hand to contribute to the campaigns of one or more progressive candidates. The executive board agreed and met via Zoom on October 22. The board decided to support two local candidates, in the amount of $375 each. Those two candidates are:
Shadi Zitoon - candidate for Texas State Senator
Vance Keys - candidate for Tarrant County Sheriff
