Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by the club president, Michael Stackhouse, at

7:00 PM, with 10 members and guests present.


Minutes: Michael Stackhouse presented the minutes from the June 2022 general meeting. The minutes were approved as presented.


Financial Report: The financial report was presented by Michael Stackhouse, showing a cash balance of $907.65. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.


Speakers:

Rodney Lee, Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, is asking for everyone to join his effort to raise $2,000 for his campaign this month. He is asking for contributions of at least $4 but welcomes larger contributions. He has had over 200 or more that have contributed so far.

He also reported that he has out raised his opponent in the previous quarter!

He will have yard signs ready for distribution next month.

Campaign updates:

She will soon have 4x8 signs and would like them to be placed in as many yards as possible.


Karroll Parker, SDEC man for District 9, discussed the state convention that ended on July 16.

He also explained how the SDEC was set to represent each state senate district 30 years ago but moving forward in the SDEC members will represent the US Congressional districts which will increase the number of representatives in the SDEC.

*Karroll explained that he and Diana Branson will be hosting this event to talk to the voters in District 9, we are all encouraged to attend.

**There was discussion regarding a booth at Sting Fling and the Train &Grain. We will be coordinating with the Rodney Lee, Mimi Coffey, Gwen Burud and Trey Hunt campaigns.

We need to find something to hand out to visitors to our booth. We will have someone to register voters and voter registration cards. Any ideas from members are welcome.

Michael will make both Facebook Events and tie them back to the party so they will be available to all contacts.

Speakers:

Rodney Lee, Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, will be hosting a Justice for All -a nonpartisan community engagement event to let people know he is fair minded and will represent everyone impartially and treat everyone equally. Rodney has pledged to make a difference in the community and prove what we have in common is more than our differences.

Mimi Coffey will be hosting “Coffee with Coffey” at her house for Democratic Leaders in House District 99 and all of North Tarrant County

Campaign updates:

There are 20,000 likely Democrats in the Como area. There will be a mailing going out to them that includes a voter registration form.

She will soon have 4x8 signs and would like them to be placed in as many yards as possible.

She also has literature and swag available for block walking. They will cut lists from VAN for block walks.

Justice for All Family Fun Day - July 9, 10am-7pm Hosted by Rodney Lee at Twin Peaks Park on Eagle Mountain Lake. $15 for all you can eat barbeque. $20 parking fee (charged by TRWD).

Speakers:

Rodney Lee, Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 spoke.

He announced that he would have a Justice for All Prayer Breakfast on May 21, 2022.

Later this summer, on July 9th, he will be hosting a Justice for All Family Fun Day at Twin Points Park on Eagle Mountain Lake. Cost is $20/car to park. Try to join Rodney at this event and support his campaign.

Carroll Parker spoke about the upcoming Texas Democratic Convention. The State Convention will be in Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center July 14-16.

Pre-registration is Wednesday, July 13 from 3-6 pm. The convention will begin on Thursday, July 14.

Even if you are not a delegate, you can attend and hear many of the statewide candidates statewide speak. It will be an exciting, informational meeting. Try to attend.

Carroll is also running for SDEC 9 Chair.
