The meeting was called to order by the president, Michael Stackhouse, at 7:00 PM. The secretary, treasurer, membership chair, and marketing chair were also present. Total attendance was 27.


Michael Stackhouse presented minutes from the September 18th general meeting, and those minutes were approved as distributed.


The treasurer, Haley Stackhouse, reported a cash balance of $1,018.15 and paid membership at 45 for 2019. We are only 5 new members away from meeting our 2019 goal of 50 members! The treasurer’s report was accepted as distributed.


Our club president and treasurer, Michael and Haley Stackhouse, will be really busy in November with the birth of their first child. With that as well as a conflict with the next Democratic Presidential Primary Debate and Thanksgiving in mind, a motion to postpone elections for the club’s 2020 executive board was advanced and passed by voice vote.


With executive board elections postponed until January, club members have an opportunity to give thoughtful consideration to stepping into a club leadership position in 2020. Executive board positions can be filled by any member in good standing who meets the by-law requirements. Current executive board members who have reached their term limits and cannot seek re-election to the same position are: President - Michael Stackhouse, Vice President - Evan Hausenfluke, Treasurer - Haley Stackhouse, Membership - Frederick Sehapayak, and Marketing - Anthony Arthur-Sehapayak


Candidate Speaker: Lisa Welch, Democrat for the Texas District 12 seat in the US House currently held by Kay Granger, spoke to the club and asked for our support in the upcoming primary and general elections. Web site Lisawelch.org.


Candidate Speaker: Lakesia Smith, Democrat for the 213th District Court Bench currently held by Chris Wolfe, spoke to the club regarding her candidacy. This court tries adult felony cases in Fort Worth.

Michael Stackhouse presented minutes from August 21st general meeting, and those minutes were approved as distributed.


The treasurer, Haley Stackhouse, reported a cash balance of $1,120.68 as of the last day of the ethics filing period, and paid membership at 43 for 2019. We are 7 away from meeting our 2019 goal of 50 members! The treasurer’s report was accepted as distributed.


TCDP Club Liaison Karroll Parker spoke about the Senate Democratic Executive Committee chairs and interim chairs. The TCDP will be holding nominations of interim chair at the CEC meeting in the near future.


Lina Well with TDW of Rural North Texas mentioned their upcoming annual scholarship fundraising dinner. All proceeds go to their scholarship fund.


Michael Stackhouse spoke about The Texas House Committee on Redistricting that will be holding a hearing in Tarrant County in October. The hearing will be open to the public for testimony. Fair Maps Texas, a nonpartisan reform effort aimed at fixing the redistricting system in Texas. They will be holding events all over Texas attempting to educate communities as to why redistricting is important and what we can do in order to insure a fair redistricting.

The treasurer, Haley Stackhouse, reported a cash balance of $1,158.30 and paid membership at 42 for 2019. We are 8 away from meeting our 2019 goal of 50 members! The treasurer’s report was accepted as distributed.


Michael Stackhouse spoke about the State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) - The CEC will be nominating individuals for these positions at the next CEC meeting, on October 5th.


NWTP Board responsibilities were distributed to attendees, and Michael Stackhouse spoke about the upcoming NWTP Executive Board elections coming in November of 2019 and the importance of a peaceful transference of power. The executive board is looking for members to volunteer and help lead the club in 2020.


All Executive Board Chairs can be challenged by any member in good standing that has been a member for at least 9 months prior to their nomination. Listed below is the Executive Chairs that have reached their term limits and cannot seek re-election, per the NWTP By-Laws:

New door hanger and Club t-shirts were created and made available for our volunteers to use for our neighborhood outreach. T-shirts can be purchased by anyone for $20.
